Accessing Collection items

Accessing the Local History Collection

Moreton Bay Region Libraries Local History Collection is held in three dedicated Local History rooms, at Redcliffe, Strathpine and Caboolture library branches. These rooms are open during normal library operating hours. 

Services available include:

  • Microfilm and microfiche readers
  • Computer access to history and genealogy databases
  • Local history and genealogy books, vertical files and research materials. 
  • Assistance with local and family history enquiries

Staff assistance or appointments may be required to access some items. Please contact us to enquire about accessing a particular item or collection.

Bribie Island Seaside Museum

Pine Rivers Heritage Museum

Set amongst the graceful landscape of Old Petrie Town, Pine Rivers Heritage Museum explores the district's historic character. Learn about early timber-getters and industries, experience an 1890s school classroom and glimpse life before electricity in an original farm workers cottage.

Redcliffe Museum

Celebrate the evolution of Redcliffe Peninsula's character, identity and discover its significance in Australian history. Reminisce about the heyday of seaside holidays and marvel at the vision and hard work needed to make the peninsula what it is today.
